Executive Vice President
Michael (Mike) School serves as the Executive Vice President for the Catholic Leadership Institute. Prior to this role, Mike served the Catholic Diocese of Richmond for 12 years as the Executive Director of the Center for Marriage, Family, and Life, Director of the Office for Evangelization, and Director of the Office of Social Ministries. During his time in the Diocese, his responsibilities included restructuring and growing the diocesan staff, leading diocesan pastoral planning efforts, and focusing on outreach and evangelization in Campus Ministry, Youth and Young Adult Ministry, and Marriage and Family Ministry. He also oversaw the project management leadership for the transition and installation of a new bishop and the diocesan bicentennial celebration. Additionally, he has served the Church nationally with the CCMA (Catholic Campus Ministry Association) as a member of the Directors Circle. Before serving at the diocesan level, Mike served as the youth minister at Saint Thomas Aquinas University Parish and assisted with campus ministry at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA.
Mike began his career in the corporate world as an IT Project Manager and later as a Corporate Learning Consultant for Capital One. After transitioning to full-time ministry in the Church, Mike started a consulting company to support several Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, and non-profits by offering a variety of services to include management consulting, merger and acquisition support, learning and development consulting, change management, process improvement, and project management.
Mike holds a BBA in Information Technology and BA in Government from the College of William and Mary as well as a MA in Religion and Religious Education from Fordham University.
Mike and his wife, Kathleen (K), live in Richmond, VA with their six children. Mike and his family are members of Saint Mary Catholic Church in Richmond, VA.
