Sam Mazzarelli
Vice President, Innovation & Development
Sam Mazzarelli serves as the Vice President, Innovation and Development for the Catholic Leadership Institute. Before this role, Sam served with FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) for 15 years as the Area Director of Strategic Groups and International Development, Area Director South, Regional Director Southern plains. During his time with FOCUS, Sam recruited and trained hundreds of missionaries, innovated new methods to ensure quality and consistency in mission, participated in leadership reorganization, and piloted international expansion. He also oversaw and grew the Annual giving programs, Alumni giving, sponsorships and developed a mid-tier philanthropy strategy and team. Before his various leadership roles, Sam serves with FOCUS as Missionary at UNC, Benedictine, and UConn.
Sam holds a BA in Theology from Benedictine College and an MBA from the University of Mary. Sam and his wife, Michelle, live in Wichita, KS, with their eight children. Sam and his family are members of St. Marks Catholic Church in Colwich, KS. Sam loves Jesus Christ and His Church and enjoys training and supporting fellow parishioners and Church leaders in leadership, discipleship, and evangelization.
