Miguel Santos

Miguel Santos is an entrepreneurial ministry professional who can pilot significant change.
Currently as Director of Strategic Planning for the Diocese of Brownsville, Miguel is responsible for visioning, planning and executing mission advancement strategies for a dynamic and rapidly growing diocese. His key responsibility areas include real estate, partnering with developers and other stakeholders to facilitate major projects, working with senior municipal government staff and elected officials to position and advance Church growth, and collaborating with the investment, philanthropic and development communities to maximize opportunities. Currently, Miguel serves as diocesan lead in the first overarching capital campaign for the Diocese of Brownsville.
Previously, Miguel was Director of Business Development for Papel Media Network, a media placement agency representing over 500 Hispanic newspapers in the United States. His accounts included print campaigns for United Healthcare and Bank of America. Earlier in his career, Miguel founded a produce marketing firm and growers’ cooperative in Mexico; his firm was the first to export onion crops to the European market.
Miguel studied Economics and French, and holds an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He obtained a Certificate in Non-Profit Executive Leadership from the University of Notre Dame, and is also a John Maxwell certified speaker, trainer, and coach. He has been invited to speak at the National Catholic Development Conference, and has served on several national boards, including the National Catholic Young Adult Ministry Association and the National Board for Young Life Catholic Relations. Miguel enjoys competing in mountain biking, tennis, and triathlons. He lives in McAllen, Texas where he is blessed to share life with his wife Myra and their three loving children.
