Bruno Bonacchi

Bruno Bonacchi joined Catholic Leadership Institute in 2020. He has broad experience as an executive in non-profit and corporate settings. Bruno was the Chief Financial Officer of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh from 2014 to 2019. In that role he was responsible for all financial, technology, HR and facilities activities. He was a member of a small group which led a Diocese wide parish restructuring and elementary school regionalization initiative and led the creation of a Parish Cemetery Association which assumed management of all parish cemeteries in the Diocese. Prior to the Diocese of Pittsburgh, Bruno spent 30 years in the financial services industry primarily at Mellon Financial Corporation where he served in a variety of roles leading several businesses within the bank and serving as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development. In this capacity he was responsible for Strategy and M & A activity for Mellon and played major role in reshaping the Corporation, moving it away from Commercial and Retail Banking and refocusing on Asset Management and Servicing. Bruno led the Acquisition of numerous asset management and servicing businesses, the creation of several joint ventures and the divestiture of Mellon’s banking related businesses. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Franciscan University, teaching courses in Corporate Finance, Investment Management and Operations Management. Bruno lives in Pittsburgh, Pa and is married with 4 children. He is active in his local parish and chair the parish finance council.
