Dear Friends and Benefactors of Catholic Leadership Institute,
My name is Meghan Nulty, a lay leader at St. Monica Church outside of Philadelphia. I am one of 27,814 lay leaders who have benefitted from philanthropy to Catholic Leadership Institute (CLI).
Come, meet the children of my parish. These children are changing the entire culture of our parish with their love for our Lord…
The first time St. Monica Church took CLI’s Disciple Maker Index survey, we were devastated to score well below the national average for religious education. Data and the Holy Spirit were giving us a clear mission: do better for our children.
We created a vision and totally reimagined how to bring our children (and their families!) closer to Jesus. My goal was simple. I wanted to teach our children and their parents to love with the heart of Christ, even when everything around you is telling you to do the opposite. Here’s what happened: pews filled, more families became involved in our community, and participation in the sacraments rose.
Our parish’s namesake, St. Monica, dedicated her life to bringing her son to Christ. She – along with the support of Catholic Leadership Institute – inspired us to bring our children closer to Jesus… and they, in turn, are leading others to Him as well.
Through CLI’s support, I have learned that change for our Church is possible; it is possible both in our parishes and in our homes. Today, I have great tenacity to be a part of that change. I realize that I have gifts and talents to share with people of all ages to bring them closer to Christ. The work is worth it. And it doesn’t end here.
Childlike faith does not doubt, never questions, and requires no explanation. It just believes. Thank you for believing in the future of our Church and in Catholic Leadership Institute.
