Since the founding of Catholic Leadership Institute (CLI) more than 31 years ago, Jesus has always been at the heart of our mission. We seek to lead like Him. Our passion is leading others to Him.
Like the Good Shepherd – centrally represented in the CLI logo – we realize that in order for our Church to thrive, we need a pastoral heart and strong leadership.
Throughout the history of CLI, the image of the Good Shepherd has marked our training, curricula, website, letterhead, and our hearts. Our logo is meant to guide and remind us that each of us is called to be faithful sheep and shepherd others. This image reminds us to lead in the spirit of the ultimate model of leadership in Jesus, and to follow his lead in seeking out lost sheep.
Ignite the Parish
"I am the Good Shepherd. I know my sheep and my sheep know me."
These words embody our love for fellow Catholics and the desire to more fully know each other and Jesus.
Your giving is at work across the country in parishes made up of diverse and brilliant souls. Through our work in parishes, parishioners and pastors are better able to know the people in the pews and more about their surrounding community. Equipped with data, parishes have an awareness of parishioners beliefs, where they are in the spiritual journey, and where they hope to grow.
Catholic Leadership Institute is working to empower and accompany parishes, intentionally working to bring people closer to Jesus.
Embolden the Clergy

St. John’s words capture our love for priests, our shepherds. Your generosity celebrates and supports the gifts of bishops and pastors.
Our clergy give their lives for their flock. They have selflessly answered the call to the vocation that comes from God. CLI is privileged to support these holy men through coaching, mentoring, specialized support, gatherings, growth plans and more so that they may better support the souls entrusted to their care.
Forge the Future
"I am the Good Shepherd. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd."
This passage reminds us that every soul is part of our flock, and we are called to help bring each soul back to the fold.
Through CLI’s ministry, leaders receive guidance in how to bring those individuals back to the Church.
